Senior Electronic Engineer
As Senior Electronic Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and architecture of our Electronics PCBs for both space-based and ground equipment.
At CONSTELLATION TECHNOLOGIES & OPERATIONS we believe that everyone on Earth should have access to internet connectivity and we are on a mission to empower telecom operators to deliver high-performance, affordable, sustainable internet from space to their clients where terrestrial networks are not available.
We will launch our first mission in 2025. This Early Test is dedicated to validating the core technology that will enable broadband internet transmission from space. The Early Test will pave the way for our next major milestone: an in-orbit demonstration in late 2027, where two complete satellites will be deployed to further validate the system end-to-end. The following step will be to deploy our full constellation of disruptive satellites, enabling telecom operators to provide seamless connectivity worldwide.
Our project is rapidly ramping up, and we are looking to expand our team with passionate individuals who share our vision.
CONSTELLATION was created in 2022 and has offices in Toulouse and Paris. We offer exceptional learning and career development opportunities, as well as competitive salaries and benefits.
CONSTELLATION is looking for a Senior Electronic Engineer to join the team in our Toulouse office, reporting to the Senior RF Engineer.
As Senior Electronic Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and architecture of our Electronics PCBs for both space-based and ground equipment. You will oversee the development and propose electronic system architectures, ensuring technical quality and compliance with specifications during design reviews.
Your key responsibilities and tasks:
- Design and propose electronic system architectures.
- Lead and participate in design reviews to ensure compliance with technical and functional requirements.
- Analyze, simulate, and document electronic functions and performance.
- Integrate EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) constraints into electronic designs.
- Define component sizing and ensure solutions meet reliability and performance targets.
- Maintain and evolve the team’s schematic and component database.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for proper system integration.
- Support validation phases through testing, troubleshooting, and technical analysis.
- Produce technical documentation (design specs, simulation results, reports).
- Perform schematic reviews and lead optimization efforts.
Skills and experience
- Master’s degree, PhD (or equivalent) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience with embedded electronics development.
- Experience in both analog and digital circuit design and systems, and you have a proven track record in developing high-performance, reliable, and efficient electronic systems.
- Experience in designing low-voltage, low-power power supplies.
- Experience with CAD tools for PCB design (e.g., Altium, Cadence).
- In-depth knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, etc.
- Expertise in digital circuit design, including FPGA or microcontroller-based systems.
- Experience with electronic simulation tools (e.g., SPICE).
- Familiarity with design and testing of embedded systems, including hardware/software integration.
- Good written and oral communication skills in French and English with an ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
People come in different shapes and sizes and it is difficult to write a job description for someone we have not yet met. Therefore if you are not sure that you meet all the criteria, or if you think that you may have something different to offer, we still want to hear from you.
